Look what the cat dragged in!

(I think Stephen's doing Blue Steel or Ferrari in this photo. Also, pay no attention to the coworker's face I whited-out over my right shoulder.)

Guess who waltzed into my office unannounced yesterday? Stephen Baldwin. That's right. Brother to Alec and conservative Christian activist. He is definitely the black sheep of his family.

According to Wikipedia (a scholarly research engine...ever heard of it?), ole Stevie is the youngest of the Baldwin brothers. He has been in movies such as 8 Seconds, The Usual Suspects, Half Baked (awesome), and many others. Last year, he was on Celebrity Apprentice, which I missed because I find Donald Trump's hair offensive and his personality annoying. However, I do enjoy impersonating him around my office by saying "you're fired" to people I don't like.

Baldwin wrote a book in 2006 called The Unusual Suspect, which highlights his acting career, his days of drug abuse, and his converstion to Christianity -- which occured shortly after the 9-11 attacks. (How original.) He also founded Breakthrough Ministries, an avenue to present the gospel through extreme sporting events that feature skateboarding and other extreme sports, Christian rock concerts, laser light shows, and fireworks. I bet this person goes to every one of them.

Before getting my picture taken with Stephen, I told him, "Your brother (Alec) is so funny!" He responded, "Yeah he is. But if he doesn't find Christ, the joke's on him!" Um, ok...I must admit it was a total buzz kill. I guess some people can't accept a compliment on behalf of a family member without making it a theological discussion.

Later that day I was driving behind a car (I'm very upset that I didn't have my camera with me to document this) that featured a sticker which read: "God don't play." I'm pretty sure it was probably Stephen Baldwin cruising the streets of Tupelo.

  2. AHHHHHHH!! I just laughed like 65 times at that blog. My favorite part was probably your comment on Trump's hair and your use of his catch phrase in your own office. Classic Martha.
